Are grandmothers naturally wired to make magic in the kitchen? I mean, think about it – have you ever made or even tasted a dish your grandmother used to make, and then felt like you were transported back in time to a place where everything’s warm, comforting, and delicious? How do they do it?
It's like there's some secret ingredient that grandmothers put in their dishes that makes everything amazing – maybe it's a pinch of love, a dash of nostalgia, or just some good old-fashioned grandma wizardry :)
My grandmother – Grandma Joka – was one of those near-mythical kitchen magicians, and her crepes were always a family favorite. Every time I make her recipe, I'm whisked back into any number of happy family memories.
Crepes are one of my absolute favorite breakfast foods – they're easy to make, versatile, and perfect for any occasion. There's something so satisfying about biting into a warm, buttery crepe that's been adorned with your favorite toppings
But here's the thing –
While my grandmother's crepes are undeniably delicious, they're not exactly the healthiest food out there. I'm including the original ingredients that my grandmother used (because that's how she made them), but I'm also providing some healthier ingredient alternatives so that health-conscious readers can still enjoy.
One last thing – There’s a secret ingredient that I add to this and just about every recipe (and I’m pretty sure Grandma would’ve approved :) – Just Thrive Probiotic. Because it’s odorless, tasteless, and can be exposed to high heat without losing potency, it's a great way to sneak in some gut health goodness to your crepes. Simply mix it into the batter before cooking, and enjoy the benefits of gut health support with every bite.
