Peanut Butter Apple Squares

Guest recipe and blog by Emily Hill @wonderwhyimfat.

It’s fall! Fall is filled with football, pumpkin farms, apple picking and comfort foods. Every year, we enjoy going apple picking and then whipping up some of our favorite recipes that bring warmth, comfort, and nostalgia to our home. I wanted to find a fun new recipe to enjoy apples this season without all the added sugar. Most apple recipes are loaded with sugars and anything store bought is usually packed with preservatives. This peanut butter apple square recipe is made with a few simple ingredients, and it’s so easy to make. Feel good knowing you are giving your family something homemade that is gut healthy and good for them!

The most important ingredient in this recipe is apples! Apples provide essential vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin C, potassium, and antioxidants. I also added in my favorite probiotic supplement, Just Thrive Probiotic, that not only creates antioxidants right in the gut, but provides my daily gut health support in the most delicious way! I also added oats to this recipe because they are loaded with antioxidants and can help with weight control.

For this peanut butter apple squares recipe, you can use any type of nut butter you prefer. I used peanut butter, but any other nut butter would work just fine. I would suggest microwaving it for about 20 seconds to loosen it up and make it easier to stir in the rest of the ingredients.

The combination of protein, healthy fats, and fiber in these scrumptious squares can help keep you satisfied and reduce unhealthy snacking. I think they’re the perfect fall treat, with little guilt! But with any treat, enjoy in moderation. You won’t want to stop eating them, trust me!
