Homemade Raspberry Jam with Chia Seeds

Guest blog and recipe by Jessica Selensky @feastytravels.

This raspberry chia seed jam is just as good (if not better) than any store-bought jar.

You can enjoy this jam on pancakes, waffles, yogurt bowls, oatmeal, and my personal favorite, a slice of toasted bread with creamy peanut butter.

Chia seeds are an excellent source of dietary fiber, with about 10 grams of fiber in just two tablespoons.

Fiber is crucial for maintaining good gut health. Chia seeds also act as a prebiotic, feeding the good bacteria in your gut and promoting a healthy gut microbiome.

Nutritional Benefits of Raspberry Chia Seed Jam

With so many nutritional benefits in this recipe, it won’t make sense to waste any money on store-bought jam! Here are just a few…

  • Raspberries: Low calorie food that is high in antioxidants and nutrient-rich including vitamin C, vitamin K, and dietary fiber.
  • Chia Seeds: Chia seeds offer a range of health benefits due to their rich nutritional profile. They are a good source of fiber, omega-3 fatty acids, protein, and antioxidants, which can contribute to improved digestion, heart health, and blood sugar control.
  • Honey (optional): Contains antioxidant, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties.
  • Lemon Juice (optional): Lemon juice offers several health benefits due to its rich content of vitamin C, antioxidants, and citric acid. It can boost immunity, aid digestion, and even potentially protect against kidney stones.
