This time of year I always have an abundance of tomatoes in my garden. I am adding them to just about everything we eat. But, there is nothing more delicious than a fresh, homemade tomato sauce! I always felt like making my own sauce from scratch was intimidating, but it’s actually very simple! You just need some patience to let the tomatoes cook down, and add in the herbs and spices to taste.
This is the perfect way to use some of my basil in my garden as well! If you don’t already have an herb garden, I would suggest it! It saves you a lot of money too and is a fun hobby. It’s super easy to grow your own vegetables and herbs and perfect for making sure you have the freshest ingredients on hand—essential when you cook as much as I do. Plus, less trips to the grocery store!
This recipe has only a few simple ingredients and is the ultimate comfort food. I love that it's all cooked in one pan which makes for easy cleanup. It’s the perfect weeknight meal with the hustle and bustle of work, carpools, or whatever your weeknights entail.
